Abstract—AVS-P2 is a video coding standard issued by China in 2006. It adopts variable length coding (VLC) and prediction techniques which make video stream vulnerable to bit errors. This paper analyzes the AVS-P2 bit stream structure, and based on it, presents a scheme for error detection and a fast error detection method, which lay a basis for the post process in video decoding such as error correction and error concealment.
